Children's Programs Schedule

Parents are asked to have children at the library at least five minutes prior to the start of each session. This will allow time for children to receive their name badges.

Parents/guardians must remain in the library for the duration
of the story time session.

Children ten and under must be accompanied by a parent
or other responsible care giver.

If library staff notice and feel that the safety of any unaccompanied child is in doubt, the staff will attempt to contact the parents, or legal guardian. If this is not successful, a staff member will notify a community agency responsible for the care and well-being of children. Such agencies may include police or the NS Dept. Of Community Services
(Child Welfare Division).

 Pre-school Story Time ● Wednesdays @ 1:00 pm.   
Saturday Story Time @ 10:30 am
Paws to Read Program - The Paws to Read Program was developed to help children who need reading encouragement and practice to improve their reading skills, by spending some one-on-one reading time with a Therapy dog team. Trained Therapeutic Dog Teams will visit the Glace Bay Library on the first Saturday of the month. Next session Saturday Feb. 4th   11am
Tween Games Night ● every second month (ages 10-12)

Ingonish Library
Teddy Bear Rhyme Time  ● Thursdays 1-2:00pm (children ages 0-5 years and their parents) Program presented by Community Learning Association North of Smokey.

McConnell Library
 Babies & Books (0-17 months)
Two separate sessions on Thursdays (session #1: 10:30-11:30am and session #2: 1:30-2:30pm)
 

Toddler Time (18-35 months)
Two separate sessions on Wednesdays (session #1: 10:10-11:00am and session #2: 11:10-12:00am)

Pre School Story Time (ages 3-5)
Pre School Story Time is Thursday 10:30-11:00 am
Next program starts Feb. 16th (register starting Tues Jan. 31st)

Saturday Story Time (ages 3 and up)
Saturdays at 10:30 am and 2:30 pm. No registration required.
